In this presentation we will share how iPads have been used to increase cross-curricular collaboration and form a relevant and user-friendly professional learning network within a school. Instead of forcing teachers to adopt education specific software, the goal is to transform personal social media applications, websites the majority of teachers already use daily, into powerful professional learning tools. By channeling the familiar, teachers can take advantage of the same applications for sharing photos and vacation adventures and transform them into tools for increasing collaboration, sharing instructional strategies, and aligning curriculum.
